It’s the End of Another Month: January Wrap Up

Hello, everyone!

It’s the end of January (I know. so fast, right?) and I guess it’s time for another wrap-up post. I didn’t really do many things in January, but I think I was productive enough πŸ™‚

So let’s break it down!

The Reading

I know I planned on reading 1 book a week, and I’d like to say I’m on track, but not quite yet. I read 2 books, Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi and Cinderella and Other Stories by Charles Perrault. Yep, I can’t start the new year without reading some fairy tales, just like last year πŸ™‚ But IΒ am almost done with Treasure Island and The Marshmallow Test (ugh, finally). Let me just say, I will not be reading The Marshmallow Test or any kind of ‘researchy’ books in the near future.

I posted two reviews this month and you can click on the covers to read the review πŸ™‚

The Random Things

Other than that, I talked about a few science fiction books I have that I want to read, and the story of how I got crushed by my To-be-Read pile because god knows that pile is at least a mile high! There was also a resolutions post where I mentioned something about wanting to be the Avatar? Of course that couldΒ totally happen! I just need to find really great masters hehehΒ πŸ™‚

Since there are so many awesome movies coming out this year, I made a list of the 10 movies I want to watch in 2017 on National Popcorn Day, because that’s a thing apparently. And it’s not just movies guys! So many great books are being released this year and so many new authors are releasing their debuts, so here are my Top 5 2017 Debuts I’m excited for!

Of course, January wasn’tΒ just about books and movies. I did other things too! Like planning my dissertation, for one. Yeah, I should really get started on that. And I’ve been practicing my hand-lettering, too πŸ™‚ Here’s my post about great sites where you can learn hand-lettering.

I did some artsy projects like more paper flowers and paper flower pomanders (? I guess that’s what they call it?) I’m not that great at the paper roses (yet), but I’m planning to make some more πŸ™‚ AND, I MADE DRAGON EGGS BECAUSE GAME OF THRONES!!

Now let’s put them in the fire and see if they hatch haha πŸ™‚

I thought they’d look nice for BookstagramΒ and it’s a nice addition for my apartment πŸ™‚

What’s Happening in February?

I was tagged for a few book tags in January, so I’m planning on doing some of them πŸ™‚ Thank you to everyone who tagged me! I also have a few discussion ideas in mind for February so I might get started on those soon!

As for my February TBR, there are a few books that I want to finally kick out of my TBR list, and I mean that in the nicest way possible!

I want to (finally) read The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater because I’ve had these books for ages and people love this series so much so I need to read them! I’m also going to read Angelfall, and I’m reading Under the Never Sky with my sisters:)

So that’s it for my January wrap-up post! How about you guys? Did you plan anything interesting for February? Tell me in the comments! πŸ™‚
