Top 5 Wednesday: Characters I Wouldn’t Want to Trade Places With

Hello, blogosphere! How are you today?

I’m back with another Top 5 Wednesday post because today is Wednesday. Duh. Okay.

TTop 5 Wednesday Iconop 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey on Youtube) on Goodreads, now hosted by Sam from ThoughtsOnTomes. Every Wednesday, book lovers will share their list of Top 5 books/characters/, etc. depending on the topic of the week through their book blogs, Instagram, Tumblr, etc. This week’s topic is ‘Characters Wouldn’t Want to Trade Places With’.

I think today’s topic is very interesting because most of the time, we think about how great it would be if we could switch places with our favorite characters for a day (or forever), live in their amazing, magical worlds, go on adventures, find hidden treasures and the list goes on and on and on. But I don’t really think about the characters that I don’t want to trade places with. The characters who live in really bad places, or characters who gets cursed, or characters who end up dead, or other things that I can’t really think of right now but probably will later when I press publish on this post. Because that’s what I always do.

So let’s get on with the list!

Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins)

katniss-everdeen As beautiful as Jennifer Lawrence looks in this photo, and even with the amazing clothes, I still wouldn’t want to trade places with Katniss. If one of my sisters was chosen to be in the games, I probably would volunteer to take her place, BUT I probably will also be one of the first to die haha. I’d be so nervous that I’d step off that exploding stage thingy (I forget what it’s called) before the countdown was over and then I’d die 😀 . Or I’d trip over nothing and someone would stab me in the back. The possibilities are endless!

Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer)

Scarlet

Not only am I a clumsy person who trips over nothing and hit my toes and thighs and arms on every single table corner and doors, I also have a low pain tolerance. Of course, this has never been tested with extreme pain, but I don’t need to test it. I know I can’t handle a lot of pain. Even just thinking about it makes me cringe. So (spoiler alert), I definitely wouldn’t want to trade places with Scarlet when she was a prisoner on Luna.

Sansa Stark (A Song of Ice and Fire)

sansa-starkOh, look! Another pretty girl I wouldn’t want to trade places with. I don’t think I need to explain why I don’t want to be Sansa, all you have to do is watch the show/read the books. Nope.

Harry Potter (Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling)

I don’t mind being a  wizard, actually. Just not Harry Potter. I don’t think I can handle all the responsibilities that come with being ‘The Chosen One’. I mean, I can barely get my assignments done on time, so how on earth could I possibly defeat You-Know-Who?

Pi (Life of Pi by Yann Martel)

   HAHAHAHAHA NO!

I love tigers, but not this much

I’m sure there are more characters that I wouldn’t want to trade places with, but for now, these are my choices. But even if I get the chance to switch places with any character, I think I’d just stay at home and read for now. I can have more than just one adventure that way because I read about more than one character in many different worlds. Plus, I get to stay at home and eat and sleep and watch TV whenever I want to. What can I say? I’m a couch potato haha 😀
