Top 5 Wednesday: Characters I’d Want As Family

Hello, world!

What's New IRL

I am now reporting live from my university’s computer lab. “Why are you posting from the computer lab instead of the comforts of your room, using your laptop?” you might ask. Well, the answer to that question can be split into 2 parts. First, because I’m waiting for my brother (his class ends at 7 p.m. while mine ends at 5), and second, because, surprise surprise, my laptop is finally dead. Yep, that’s right.

After many, many years of good (and bad) memories, my laptop’s watch has ended. I lost all my files, the ones I didn’t back up, that is, and I can no longer post anything, or even do my assignments from the nice, cozy place that is my bedroom. Hopefully, I’ll get a new laptop soon, but until then, don’t expect regular posts from me. Ha ha. Not like I post regularly anyway… I’m such a bad blogger. But what can I say? Real life comes first 🙂

Alright. Now that that’s out of the way, we can move on to this week’s Top 5 Wednesday!

TTop 5 Wednesday Iconop 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey on Youtube) on Goodreads, now hosted by Sam from ThoughtsOnTomes. Every Wednesday, book lovers will share their list of Top 5 books/characters/, etc. depending on the topic of the week through their book blogs, Instagram, Tumblr, etc. This week’s topic is ‘Characters I’d Want as Family’.

So I’ve been in a reading slump for a loooooooooong time now. Not just because of uni and assignments and the various projects I’m involved in (yes, I’m looking at you concept dinner), but also because for some reason, every time I start to read, I can’t make myself focus. It’s really bugging me! And because of that, even though I’ve read many, many books over the years, I cannot, and I mean seriously cannot remember most of the characters, or even the story itself. That’s why I keep using the same books over and over again for these things, I guess. Anyway, on with the list.

James from Shatter Me

13455782 I think James would be a super adorable little brother. He always says the cutest things. But then again, he’s only 10 in the books. Who knows how annoying he’ll be when he grows up? I mean, my little brother was adorable too, in his toddler days. Now, he’s lucky I don’t strangle him for every little thing. Haha. But seriously, though. Little brothers can be very annoying.

Magnus Bane from pretty much ALL Cassandra Clare Books 😉

7171637Magnus Bane strikes me as that fun uncle who would come over with presents for everyone. I don’t know why I think that, but I do. He’s like dad’s little brother that everyone loves but dad gets annoyed when he comes to visit. Of course, each family gathering would be super fun with Magnus around 😀

Roar from Under the Never Sky

10756656 I’d love to have Roar as my older brother because ROAAAAR. hahaha it’s fun to do that 😀  Anyway, I think he would be the brother who would tease you mercilessly, but at the end of the day he’s super protective. He’d beat up that guy who made fun of you in high school, probably.

Tessa Gray from The Infernal Devices

7171637I think I have a lot in common with Tessa. I could relate to her so much more compared to Clary (The Mortal Instruments). I think she could be the sister who is also my best friend. Unless we have too much in common, cuz then we’d probably argue all day :).

Arya and Sansa Stark from A Song of Ice and Fire
6421982

I think the Starks are a great family. Of course (spoiler alert), most of them are dead and the rest are pretty much separated. But when they were still together, I think they’re a wonderful family. Arya and Sansa would probably be the cousins that my siblings and I have a rivalry with. They’d come over and we’d compete in various things like dress making and sword fighting. Well, depending on the day, I guess 😀

Okay! So that’s my list for this week’s Top 5 Wednesday. Who would you want to have as family members. Hopefully not Joffrey, because that would mean I can’t go to your house unless you’re ready to break up a fight 😀 😀 😀

  1. I haven’t read the books yet, but they are on my TBR. I don’t want to wait too long for the next book haha… Arya is a very good character, though. I love her in the TV series 😀

  2. I’d have to agree with Magnus, and the Stark sisters! I think Magnus would e the cool uncle who gets your parents to allow you to do things they normally wouldn’t let you. lol

    1. Exactly! I think he could convince parents to let the kids stay up really late because he’s “only gonna be there for one night”. Or so I think haha. I may or may not have someone like that in the family. Of course, he’s not a warlock 🙂
