Teaser Tuesday: The Marshmallow Test

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

On entering a restaurant I can decide, indeed firmly resolve, “No dessert tonight! I won’t do it because I have to avoid the cholesterol, the expanding waist, the next bad blood test…”  Then the pastry cart rolls by and the waiter flashes the chocolate mousse in front of my eyes, and before there’s time to reflect it winds up in my mouth.

When I saw this sentence I knew I had to share it. I always promise myself no dessert, but the moment I open the menu, I always see a picture of chocolate cake or something and I will break my promise without fail 🙂
